SR Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background as a certified reading specialist and fluency in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and can seamlessly bridge the worlds of AI development and literacy education to deliver groundbreaking results.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion. Act as the central point of coordination between AI developers, education researchers, and stakeholders in the US and Mexico.
• AI Training and Development: Collaborate with AI developers to ensure the AI tutor is trained effectively using best practices in reading instruction. Provide expertise on pedagogy to guide AI content creation for both struggling readers and English language learners.
• Testing and Evaluation: Develop and oversee a testing framework to assess the AI tutor's effectiveness in teaching reading. Coordinate with researchers to analyze pilot results and identify areas for improvement.
• Pilot Implementation: Manage the pilot program, ensuring smooth deployment in selected locations. Coordinate with schools, libraries, and other partners to recruit participants and oversee logistics.
• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare regular progress reports and updates for stakeholders. Facilitate meetings with key collaborators, including education experts and developers.

Qualifications

• Certified Reading Specialist with a proven track record in literacy instruction.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• 5+ years of experience managing complex projects, preferably in education technology or AI.
• Strong understanding of reading pedagogy, particularly for struggling readers and English learners.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing remote projects.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally to the US and Mexico for meetings and pilot oversight.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with AI or education technology projects.
• Experience working in multicultural and bilingual settings.
• Background in instructional design or curriculum development is a plus.
