VP of Tech / Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

We are seeking a hands-on technical leader who can serve as a VP of Technology while actively contributing code. This is not a management-only position. The ideal candidate will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and personally build features in our Ruby on Rails stack. This role reports directly to the CEO.

Requirements

1. 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years focused on Ruby on Rails.
2. Proven ability to architect and scale production applications.
3. Experience leading engineering teams or serving in a senior technical leadership capacity.
4. Strong full-stack capabilities including front-end technologies (React preferred).
5. Experience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure.
6. Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
7. Must be willing and able to write production code daily, not just manage.

Nice to Have

1. Experience in marketplace or on-demand service businesses.
2. Mobile app development experience (iOS/Android).
3. DevOps and CI/CD pipeline management.
4. Experience with high-volume transaction processing.
5. Background in wellness, healthcare, or consumer services industries.
