Sr QA Automation Engineer – EOS

What You’ll Do Here:

● Create, execute, and support automated API and service-level test cases utilizing Karate and Postman.

● Partner with QA and engineering teams to establish testing strategies for upcoming features and services.

● Build and support regression and smoke testing suites to ensure system stability and service reliability.

● Conduct manual exploratory and validation testing for intricate backend workflows or areas that cannot be automated.

● Design and run backend performance validations with tools such as JMeter, k6, or similar solutions.

● Verify data integrity and conduct root cause investigations through logs, service metrics, and backend databases.

● Execute testing within Dockerized or local development environments and assist with environment setup and configuration.

● Take part in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning sessions, and collaboration across teams.

● Support continuous integration (CI) and continuous testing (CT) pipelines within the QA automation lifecycle.

Experience We’re Looking For:

● 5+ years of background in software quality assurance, particularly focused on backend systems and APIs.

● Demonstrated expertise creating and supporting tests using Karate Framework and Postman (including assertions, chaining, and scripting).

● Strong knowledge of RESTful services, including authentication flows, headers, status codes, and payload validation.

● Familiarity working with Docker and containerized testing environments.

● Experience analyzing logs and troubleshooting backend systems.

● Strong foundation in manual QA and exploratory testing for validating service-level functionality.

● Experience operating within Agile/Scrum environments and using tools such as JIRA, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.

● Basic ability to read code (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript) to support triage efforts and align testing.

Bonus Experience:

● Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) Systems.

● Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or Locust.

● Understanding of MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies.

● Experience validating distributed or edge-deployed systems (e.g., POS terminals, IoT devices).

● Familiarity with cloud environments including Azure or AWS.

● Domain knowledge related to restaurant/POS systems and associated workflows.
