Job Summary


  1. We are looking for a hands-on Controller based in Latin America to own the full accounting and financial operations function. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the CFO. You will be responsible for the accuracy of our books across three geographies (US, Greece, Brazil),manage relationships with outsourced accounting firms, oversee month-end close and consolidations, and supervise a junior FinOps team member.
  2. This is not a back-office role. You will be the single point of accountability for everything backward-looking in finance: if the numbers are right, it is because of you. If they are wrong, it is on you.


Responsibilities

  1. Month-End Close & Consolidations
  2. Own the end-to-end month-end close process across all entities (US, Greece, Brazil)
  3. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements under US GAAP
  4. Ensure intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and reconciliations are accurate
  5. Deliver close within established timelines with full documentation

  6. Outsourced Firm Management
  7. Serve as the primary point of contact for three outsourced accounting teams (US, GR,BR)
  8. Set quality standards, review deliverables, and hold firms accountable for accuracy
  9. Assess outsourced firm performance within first 90 days and recommend changes if needed
  10. Manage the transition if firms need to be replaced


  1. Financial Operations Oversight
  2. Supervise the junior FinOps associate (payments, billing, expense review)
  3. Establish and enforce internal controls and approval workflows
  4. Ensure compliance with local regulations across all jurisdictions


  1. Accuracy & Process Improvement
  2. Act as the quality gate for all financial data before it reaches the Head of Finance
  3. Identify and fix recurring accuracy issues in the books
  4. Document and standardize accounting processes across geographies
  5. Support external audit preparation and liaison


Requirements

  1. Must-Have
  2. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidations
  3. Strong US GAAP knowledge (working experience, not just theoretical)
  4. Experience managing or working closely with outsourced accounting teams
  5. Fluent English (written and verbal). You will interface with US-based firms and leadership
  6. Hands-on mentality. This is a doer role, not a delegator role
  7. Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency environments
  8. Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel/Google Sheets at an advanced level

  2. CPA or equivalent local certification
  3. Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
  4. Familiarity with Brazilian and/or Greek accounting standards
  5. Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero
  6. Portuguese or Spanish fluency (in addition to English)


The role is 100% remote for candidates located outside Bogotá. For candidates based in Bogotá, a hybrid work model is required.
