Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for development of backend and frontend code development for our two externally facing websites as well as our home office intranet, all of which are built upon the Optimizely (formerly EPiServer) content management system. The primary need for this role is back-end Optimizely CMS engineering. The team is planning an upgrade and will use Content Graph for data retrieval.

You will execute on design patterns and architectures defined by the leads on the team. You will participate in all aspects of the Agile workflow, attending meetings with stakeholders to assist in defining requirements, and assist in helping our team to meet, and to grow to predict the needs of our stakeholders. You will grow our test coverage by participating in Test Driven Development, building both unit tests and end to end tests as part of the solution development. You will participate in troubleshooting during production issues.

Required skills

  1. Backend: C# .Net 6, including use of APIs and data-driven architecture (min 5 years)
  2. Frontend: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, including use of APIs (5+ years)
  3. SQL (min 5 years)
  4. Experience developing on Optimizely Content Management System (3+ years), with real hands-on CMS engineering experience on CMS 12 (PaaS) and/or CMS 13 (SaaS). For CMS 12, genuine full-stack development experience within the platform. Please note that Optimizely experience which is primarily A/B testing, experimentation or front-end work does not substitute for CMS engineering experience, and experience limited to Razor or front-end components is not sufficient
  5. Experience with data/application integrations (3+ years)
  6. Theoretical understanding of Object-oriented design concepts, SOLID principles, dependency injection (5+ years)

Important: We are willing to consider Sitecore engineers for this role. Candidates whose Optimizely experience ended around 2023 to 2024 can also still be viable.

Strong plus

  1. Experience with Optimizely CMS 13 (SaaS), and with Content Graph
  2. Optimizely certification, as validation of deeper API and framework knowledge

Nice to haves
