System Engineer - GA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and reliable operation of software, computer
systems, network servers, and virtualization - Carry out daily tasks such as troubleshooting, configuration of SaaS environments, restoring environments,
and refreshing data - Troubleshoot software application performance by reviewing log files and running diagnostics,
documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues - Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of services
and system software and related infrastructure/SaaS environments. - Responsible for sizing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting SaaS environment in Microsoft Azure
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or
upgrades of SaaS environments - Monitor backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery,
and failover procedures - Responsible for capacity, SaaS resource planning, and database performance
Technology Skills - Data base management system software — MsSQL Server; Postgres
- Data base user interface and query software — PostgreSQL; SQL Management Studio; Dbeaver
- Development environment software — Microsoft PowerShell; CMD; bash
- Network monitoring software — PRTG; Azure Monitoring
- Operating system software — Microsoft Windows Server; linux
- Cloud —Microsoft Azure
- Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a
closely related field, or equivalent experience required - Experience in database, network administration, Azure administration, system administration
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of systems and Azure networking, software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices,
including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
